KADO: The Right Answer

Cool-headed and methodical, government negotiator Koujirou Shindou is known for keeping his composure under pressure. On the way to a business trip, his flight is suddenly swallowed—without damage—by a colossal cube that appears out of nowhere, an indestructible structure that leaves Japan scrambling for answers.

As officials investigate the cube’s nature and origin, Shindou comes face-to-face with Yaha-kui zaShunina, a mysterious being who takes the form of a human man. Claiming the passengers are safe, he asks Shindou to serve as his counterpart in opening talks with the human world. Yaha-kui zaShunina says he comes from a higher-dimensional realm called Novo and can transmit information between worlds through the cube known as Kado. Though his powers are beyond comprehension, he shows no immediate hostility—only a stated purpose: to “advance” humanity, beginning with Japan.
