H2O: Footprints in the Sand

Takuma Hirose is a high schooler living with blindness of unknown origin. Hoping his condition will improve, he’s sent to a rural village to stay with his uncle, where his quiet new life quickly becomes entwined with the people around him—especially Hayami Kohinata, Hinata Kagura, and the mysterious Otoha.

After Otoha briefly restores Takuma’s sight, he begins using that fleeting gift to lend a hand to others and better understand the village he’s been placed in. His attention soon turns to Hayami, who is treated with open hostility by the townsfolk for reasons no one will clearly explain, drawing Takuma into a web of sorrowful secrets hidden beneath the village’s calm surface.
