Matoi the Sacred Slayer

Matoi Sumeragi wants a quiet, ordinary life, content to split her days between school and a part-time job at her best friend Yuma Kusanagi’s family shrine. That calm routine shatters when a Night—an evil being from another dimension—strikes the shrine, and Matoi drives it back after accidentally awakening the power of a god, a force opposed to the Nights.

As the attacks continue, Matoi and Yuma find themselves working alongside Claris Tonitolus, a seasoned Vatican exorcist, and Haruka Luciela, an agent of the covert Night-defense organization IATO. With the mastermind and motive still unknown, Matoi must learn to control her unexpected abilities to protect those close to her—and preserve the normalcy she’s been fighting to keep.
