Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens

Fukuoka may seem calm on the surface, but a hidden underworld thrives beneath it—populated by killers, detectives, and specialists who sell revenge for a living. Zenji Banba, an easygoing yet sharp-eyed investigator, has been looking into the activities of local hitman organizations, quietly drawing their attention in the process.

Xianming Lin, a crossdressing contract killer working for one of those companies, is growing tired of scarce jobs and shrinking paychecks. When a target dies by suicide before Lin can reach him, his employers refuse to pay the promised fee, pushing him to demand a new assignment. They answer with a contract on Banba, believing the detective has been disrupting their business—but when Banba shows up at his own home and finds Lin waiting, Lin doesn’t pull the trigger. Instead, he proposes an unexpected partnership, setting the stage for a tense alliance amid Fukuoka’s organized crime scene.
