Synopsis

Aya Asagiri lives with constant thoughts of ending her life. At school she’s a frequent target of bullying, and at home her older brother Kaname takes out the pressure of their father’s academic demands through violence against her.

One sleepless night, a strange “Magical Girl Site” appears on Aya’s laptop, offering her supernatural power. She brushes it off as a disturbing joke—until a magical gun turns up in her shoe locker the next day. When her tormentors corner her again, Aya uses the weapon in desperation, only to see them abruptly transported to a nearby railroad crossing where they’re killed by an oncoming train.

Shaken by what she’s done and desperate for answers, Aya is soon pulled deeper into a brutal world of magical girls. She’s rescued by classmate Tsuyuno Yatsumura, who wields the ability to stop time, and together they’re forced into conflicts with other girls like them while trying to uncover the truth behind the website—and the looming catastrophe known as “The Tempest.”
