Synopsis

On Naral Island, the rise of a Demon Lord and the appearance of a destined Hero have repeated for generations, locking the land into an endless loop of magic and monster-slaying. The newest Hero, Juulia “Yusha” Charldetto, is on the verge of victory with her small but spirited party: Seiran “Seira” Élénoir, a steady priest; Meiza “Mei” Endust, a hard-to-read mage; and the relentlessly enthusiastic warrior Fai Fai.

During their climactic confrontation, the group attempts a dangerous spell meant to hurl the Demon Lord through time—but it misfires, sending the four back to an earlier era, before the Demon Lord’s return and before they’ve even finished training as adventurers. Their memories of the future are gone, and they set out once again to become a proper Hero’s party. Unbeknownst to them, the Demon Lord has also been displaced into the past, retaining her memories and taking on the appearance of a young girl. Under the name Mao, she slips into the adventurers’ school as a teacher, determined to derail Yusha’s path from right at her side.
