In 1923 Tokyo, a sudden surge of vampires throws the capital into turmoil, fueled by the illicit spread of “Ascra,” an artificial substitute for blood. Lieutenant General Sounosuke Nakajima responds by assembling Special Forces Unit 16—vampires already within the military—into a covert task force created to hunt their own kind: Code Zero.

Colonel Yoshinobu Maeda is placed in command and charged with tracing the Ascra pipeline while capturing or eliminating vampires before the situation spirals further. As scrutiny mounts and the unit’s existence is questioned, Code Zero’s members wrestle with unfamiliar abilities and the loss of their former humanity. With enemies on all sides, they must contain the outbreak—or be consumed by the darker instincts awakening within them.
