As World War II looms, information about rival nations’ social and economic conditions becomes a weapon in its own right. In response, Japan forms a covert intelligence unit known as the D Agency, tasked with gathering secrets that could shape the coming conflict.

Led by Lieutenant Colonel Yuuki, eight specially trained operatives are dispatched to infiltrate and monitor some of the world’s most influential countries, sending back reports tied to wartime developments. Conditioned to endure harsh environments and educated in disciplines like communications and foreign languages, they rely most on the art of deception—reading, persuading, and manipulating others to extract the intelligence Japan needs.
