Raised deep in the mountains, Yoichi Karasuma has devoted his life to mastering the Soaring Wind, Divine Wind sword style under his father’s strict instruction. After reaching proficiency at 17, he’s sent to a dojo in the city to continue his training—and to finally learn what everyday modern life is like.

Yoichi’s old-fashioned manners, samurai-like speech, and traditional attire make fitting in a challenge from the moment he arrives. Living and training alongside the Ikaruga sisters at the dojo, his sincere cluelessness about social norms repeatedly sparks a string of comedic misunderstandings, as he tries to adapt to his new “family” and a world far removed from the one he knows.
