Phantom of the Idol

Kazuki Yoshino and Yuuya Niyodo form the idol duo ZINGS, but their commitment couldn’t be more uneven. Kazuki pours himself into every show, while Yuuya treats performing as a paycheck, brushing off fans and coasting through work. After one too many lackluster efforts, his manager lays down a final warning: start taking the job seriously, or get cut.

Backstage, Yuuya runs into Asahi Mogami—an idol in a vibrant costume who, shockingly, died a year earlier. Still clinging to her love of the stage, Asahi is furious to find someone so indifferent living the life she wanted, and she demands to take over. Soon, Yuuya wakes to a bizarre new reality: Asahi can possess him, stepping in to deliver the kind of performance he can’t be bothered to give.

At first, Yuuya sees an effortless path to staying employed, letting Asahi handle the hard part. Asahi, however, isn’t interested in simply covering for him; even as a ghost, she wants him to rediscover the drive she never lost, aiming to turn him into a truly great idol—whether he cares about more than money or not.
