Urusei Yatsura

Earth’s fate comes down to an absurd ultimatum: the alien Oni will call off their invasion if a randomly selected human can beat Lum—the Oni leader’s striking daughter—in a one-on-one game of tag. The “winner” is supposed to grab Lum’s horns within ten days, and the unlucky pick turns out to be Ataru Moroboshi, a lecherous high schooler with a talent for getting into trouble. Facing Lum’s otherworldly abilities, the challenge looks hopeless from the start.

Driven by a promise of marriage from his childhood friend Shinobu Miyake, Ataru pulls off an improbable victory—after an embarrassing misgrab, he finally succeeds. The crisis ends, but the misunderstandings are just beginning: Lum takes Ataru’s words as a proposal and promptly moves in with him. Caught between a devoted, clingy alien and the fiancée he’s trying to win back, Ataru’s “heroic” moment quickly turns into a daily comedy of romantic chaos.
