In 2004, 12-year-old Fuyuki Hinata dreams of a sky packed with UFOs—only for the idea to feel a little less imaginary when Sergeant Keroro, a frog-like alien from the Keronian army, breaks into the Hinata home. Keroro is the leader of an advance unit sent to invade Pekopon (Earth), and he intends to regroup with his squad and return to the mothership to fix the Kero Ball, a crucial invasion device. That plan collapses when he learns headquarters has abandoned his unit after an unprecedented crisis sends the rest of the Keronians fleeing.

With nowhere else to go, Keroro ends up living under the Hinatas’ roof alongside wide-eyed Fuyuki, his athletic and hot-tempered sister Natsumi, and their hardworking mother Aki. Keroro and his platoon continue plotting conquest day after day, but their schemes rarely go as expected—especially as life among humans turns rivals into unlikely friends and fuels a steady stream of sci-fi parody and offbeat comedy.
