The Squid Girl

Fed up with humanity’s long-standing pollution of the sea, Ika Musume—a squid girl from the ocean depths—decides it’s time to retaliate. Armed with unmistakably squid-like talents such as ink, bioluminescence, and powerful tentacle-like “hair,” she surfaces with grand ambitions of punishing humans and claiming victory for the ocean.

Her first stop is the Lemon Beach House, run by sisters Eiko and Chizuru Aizawa, whom she assumes will be an easy opening move. Instead, Ika Musume quickly finds herself outmatched and, after damaging part of the restaurant, is made to work as a waitress to cover the repair costs. With her takeover plans temporarily stalled, she settles into an unexpectedly comfortable new routine—meeting people, adjusting to life on land, and turning everyday beachside encounters into lively comedy.
