Along the way, the pair scrape together modest gains and pieces of information, their partnership strengthened by wit, bargaining, and the quiet intimacy of life on the road.

But the path forward rarely stays simple. A personable young merchant takes an interest in Holo, stirring doubts in Lawrence about whether she’ll continue at his side, even as increasingly risky deals test his judgment and his ambition to one day own a shop.
