In the kingdom of Xoana, Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev cross paths once again with Zelgadis Graywords and Princess Amelia Wil Tesla Saillune. Their reunion quickly turns eventful when the group finds itself thwarting the King of Xoana and his daughter, cutting short their ambitions for world domination.

Not long after, Zelgadis’s true purpose comes to light: he’s hunting for the legendary Claire Bible, a priceless magical tome said to contain secrets that could help him regain his human form. Though he insists on going alone, Lina, Gourry, and Amelia choose to tag along—only to run into a strangely helpful priest named Xellos, who offers guidance just as their search begins.
