Shakugan no Shana: Season I

Crimson Denizens—enigmatic beings from a parallel realm—prey on human life force, turning the world into a quiet hunting ground. Their victims are reduced to “Torches,” faint remnants destined to burn out, taking even the memory of their existence with them. Standing against this unseen slaughter are the Flame Hazes, dedicated warriors who track and battle the Denizens to keep the balance from collapsing.

Yuuji Sakai’s ordinary life ends abruptly when he is caught in a strange distortion of time and attacked by a Denizen. He’s saved by a young-looking hunter with fiery eyes and crimson hair, but the rescue comes with a chilling revelation: Yuuji has already become a Torch, a fading echo of himself with only a limited time before he disappears completely.
