The feared necromancer known as the Corpse God falls in a legendary battle—only to awaken again in modern Tokyo as Polka Shinoyama. Trapped in a fragile new body and an unfamiliar era, Polka tries to find his footing while the city’s hidden supernatural undercurrents quickly close in. One of the first to confront him is Misaki Sakimiya, a high school girl with the ability to see spirits, who immediately sets her sights on taking him down.

As Polka searches for answers about why he was reborn and who is hunting him, he crosses paths with Takumi Kuruya, a contractor adept at surveillance and hacking, and Lisa Kuraki, a Shinjuku-based crime boss. With their help—and other unlikely allies—he navigates escalating threats while uncovering the truth behind his reincarnation and what it could mean for the world he’s now part of.
