Synopsis

Within the Barsburg Empire’s Military Academy, cadets are shaped into battlefield elites, wielding the power known as Zaiphon—an ability whose form varies with each soldier’s nature. Among the academy’s standouts is Teito Klein, a gifted student scorned as a “sklave” for having no memory of his past. His lone refuge is the friendship of fellow cadet Mikage, until Teito stumbles upon a secret tied to his origins on the eve of the final exam.

After a failed attempt on the life of the high-ranking Ayanami—the man Teito believes killed his father—Teito is imprisoned to await punishment. Mikage helps him break free, and Teito finds sanctuary in the 7th District Church under the care of its bishops.
