Big Windup!

Ren Mihashi once served as the ace pitcher of his middle school baseball team, but his struggles on the mound kept them from ever winning. As the losses piled up, he became the target of bullying, and the team’s morale collapsed to the point that they stopped trying altogether. Mihashi graduated with his confidence shattered and transferred to a high school in another prefecture, determined to leave baseball behind.

That plan doesn’t last long at Nishiura High, where he’s pulled into the school’s brand-new team and placed on the roster as the starting pitcher. Hesitant at first, Mihashi begins to find a place where he’s accepted, and with the guidance of catcher Takaya Abe, he slowly starts to trust his own ability. Recognizing Mihashi’s potential, Abe sets out to shape him into a pitcher worthy of the title “ace.”
