At the dawn of the 21st century, Japan slips into economic and political turmoil. Seeking a way forward, the military turns to a new class of battlefield hardware: Tactical Armor (TA), powered suits that offer exceptional mobility but exact a harsh physical toll on their operators, leaving only a select few able to pilot them effectively.

Yuushirou Gouwa stands out among those few. The fourth son of the influential Gouwa family, he is trained and positioned within a world shaped by authority and ambition, and his skill with TA soon draws him into escalating international competition as other powers race to field their own versions. His path shifts further when he meets a mysterious girl who warns him against awakening a “terror,” and as he struggles to understand what that means, hints emerge that the Gouwa family’s role in the coming conflict runs deeper than it appears.
