Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket

Ten-year-old Alfred Izuruha lives in the neutral Side 6 colony cluster, where the distant conflict between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon feels like an exciting spectacle. He has no idea that the war is closer than it seems: his neighbor Christina is secretly serving as the test pilot for a prototype Federation Gundam being developed within the colony, drawing dangerous attention to their supposedly safe home.

A Zeon Special Forces unit is dispatched to infiltrate Side 6 and steal or eliminate the hidden mobile suit. When fighting erupts between Federation forces and the intruders, Alfred comes across a downed Zaku and its pilot, Zeon rookie Bernard “Bernie” Wiseman. Their chance meeting turns into an unlikely friendship—Alfred eager to learn firsthand about the war he’s fascinated by, and Bernie hoping to gather local knowledge that could help his team complete its mission.
