Patlabor: The Movie

Tokyo’s ambitious Babylon Project is reshaping the city through sweeping redevelopment and new artificial islands in the bay. Much of the work depends on Labors—industrial robots built for construction—until the project is shaken by the puzzling death of a central figure, ruled a suicide under suspicious circumstances. Captain Kiichi Gotou and his Patlabor police unit are assigned to investigate what lies behind the incident.

Soon, Labors across the capital begin malfunctioning, and a compromised AI system turns a technological cornerstone into a threat to public safety. With tensions rising, Noa Izumi and her Patlabor, Alphonse, follow Gotou’s lead as they race to contain the escalating crisis and uncover the hidden design driving it.
