Medabots

Medabots are combat-ready robots whose personalities and intelligence come from special “medals.” They’re often built for Robbatling, a widely loved sport where owners—known as Medafighters—pit their partners against each other in organized matches. Those who rise through the professional circuit aim for the World Tournament, where the best compete for the championship.

Ikki Tenryou, an elementary schooler eager to join the action, finally gets his first Medabot: Metabee, an older model that initially lacks a medal. After Ikki finds one in a nearby river and installs it, Metabee turns out to be anything but obedient—hotheaded, stubborn, and quick to challenge Ikki’s authority. If they want any shot at reaching the World Tournament, the two will have to figure out how to fight as a team.
