Natsume's Book of Friends Season 4

Takashi Natsume, a soft-spoken boy who can see youkai, continues to navigate the quiet, complicated space between humans and spirits while carrying the Book of Friends. With support from familiar allies and new encounters alike, he keeps searching for a sense of belonging—often under the watchful eye of Madara, better known in his cat form as Nyanko-sensei, a proud yet fiercely devoted bodyguard with a taste for food and sake.

When Natsume is briefly separated from Nyanko-sensei, he’s ambushed and taken by masked, monkey-like youkai who drag him into their forest in a frantic hunt for the Book of Friends. Nyanko-sensei quickly rallies Natsume’s youkai acquaintances to stage a rescue, but the forest shelters more than one threat, including the Matoba Clan—an old adversary with its own designs.

From the Matoba stronghold to places tied to Natsume’s early life, Natsume Yuujinchou Shi returns to its blend of danger, warmth, and mythology as Natsume is forced to face what his past still holds over him.
