Natsume's Book of Friends Season 5

Takashi Natsume can see youkai—spirits hidden from ordinary eyes—and keeps that gift quiet around his adoptive family and friends to preserve their calm, everyday life. Even so, he continues the gentle work he began with his grandmother Reiko’s legacy: using the Book of Friends to return stolen names to the youkai bound by it, meeting each encounter with patience and respect.

The Matoba exorcist clan remains intent on recruiting him, drawn to the strength of his ability. Natsume refuses, wary of exorcists who treat all youkai as threats—unlike the more even-handed Shuuichi Natori—and Seiji Matoba escalates matters by coercing Natsume into attending a major gathering of influential exorcist families. Surrounded by formidable exorcists and perilous youkai, Natsume holds to his conviction that harsh, indiscriminate sealing isn’t the answer, and that understanding between both worlds is still worth pursuing.
