A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd

At Shiomi Academy, students whisper about “The Shepherd,” a local legend said to appear before diligent hard-workers and grant them a single wish. Kyoutarou Kakei, a second-year and the practical head of the Library Club, is spending a quiet day in the school’s famed Great Library when an email arrives—sent by the Shepherd itself—warning of an incident that will alter his future.

Rattled by the message, Kyoutarou heads to a nearby station and ends up saving classmate Tsugumi Shirasaki from a derailing train. Thankful and intrigued, Tsugumi joins the Library Club and draws him into her “Shiomi Happy Project,” an effort that soon brings more members into their circle. As the club works to brighten life around the academy, Kyoutarou is pulled closer to the mystery of who—or what—the Shepherd really is.
