Kamichama Karin

Thirteen-year-old Karin Hanazono has been dealt a rough hand: her parents are gone, she lives with an aunt who belittles her for her poor grades, and even her one companion—her cat, Shii-chan—has recently passed away. The only comfort she clings to is a ring left by her mother, a small keepsake that ties her to the family she’s lost.

Karin’s days shift when she meets Himeka Kuujou, a cheerful girl who has also lost her parents, and Himeka’s cousin Kazune, who finds dealing with girls a hassle. The two are searching for a goddess, and Karin’s ring reacts to them with a sudden brilliance that floods her with power—sharpening her mind and body and granting her the ability to make wishes come true. The ring’s secret is soon revealed: it can transform Karin into the very goddess they’ve been seeking, and awakening that gift draws new attention from those who want it for themselves.
