Years ago, humanity was nearly exterminated by enormous, magically armored insects that grew too powerful to contain. Forced from the surface, people now survive in floating cities, protected by elite wizard academies whose students take to the skies to battle the relentless threat.

Kanata Age, once celebrated as the “Black Master Swordsman,” has since been branded a traitor. Offered a chance to restore his name, he’s assigned to train the troubled squad E601—Misora Whitale, Lecty Eisenach, and Rico Flamel—three girls each carrying their own issues. Guiding them back into form proves anything but straightforward, and Kanata soon finds himself repeatedly pulled into complications alongside his new team.
