Midgar is an all-girls academy created for the “D’s,” students born with distinctive marks and the ability to generate dark matter and shape it into formidable weapons. That alone would make it unusual—until Yuu Mononobe enrolls as the school’s first and only male student, an unprecedented D whose presence immediately draws attention.

The D’s first appeared in the aftermath of the Dragons, mysterious monsters that erupted across the world twenty-five years earlier, brought widespread ruin, and then vanished as abruptly as they arrived. With Dragons feared to return, Midgar trains its students to control their powers for the battles ahead. As Yuu begins life at the academy, he’s pulled into the orbit of the girls around him—including a sister he’s long been separated from—while joining their efforts to uncover the truth behind the Dragons and confront the danger they represent.
