A century ago, the calamity known as the Invertia reshaped society, weakening traditional nations and allowing the Integrated Empire Foundation to rise to power. In its wake appeared the Genestella—humans born with extraordinary physical abilities. The most promising of them are gathered at six elite academies, where they compete in public duels called Festas.

Ayato Amagiri arrives at Seidoukan Academy as a scholarship transfer student, joining a school eager to restore its fading reputation. A chance misunderstanding puts him at odds with the famed “Witch of Resplendent Flames,” Julis-Alexia von Riessfeld, after he sees her in a compromising moment, prompting her to challenge him to a duel—until the student council president intervenes. Despite claiming little interest in the Festas, Ayato is at Seidoukan to search for his missing older sister, but as darker schemes surface, he’s drawn into the battles and the attention of some of the world’s most gifted Genestella.
