Mitsuboshi Colors

In Tokyo’s Ueno district, three self-appointed “guardians” known as the Colors roam the neighborhood looking for ways to do good—or at least to act the part. Behind the grand title are simply three grade-school girls: the timid Yui Akamatsu, energetic Sacchan, and game-loving Kotoha, who turn everyday streets and shops into the stage for their imagination-fueled adventures. Their antics are often enabled by Daigorou “Pops” Kujiraoka, a kindly older man whose store full of odds and ends provides endless material for their play.

Not everyone appreciates being pulled into the Colors’ missions, especially local police officer Saitou, who would rather focus on routine patrols than be cast as the villain in their made-up scenarios. Even so, he usually humors them, and the trio’s small escapades end up adding a bit of warmth and cheer to Ueno’s daily life.
