Anime-Gataris

A half-remembered childhood anime keeps replaying in Minoa Asagaya’s mind after a vivid dream, but the title stubbornly refuses to come back to her. Hoping her classmates at Sakaneko High School might recognize the scene, she asks around—only for her conversation to catch the attention of Arisu Kamiigusa, the class’s rich, admired standout who also happens to be a dedicated otaku. Even Arisu, with all her encyclopedic knowledge, can’t place the show.

With no existing anime club on campus, the two decide to start their own: the Anime Research Club. As they gather fellow fans in search of answers, Minoa finds herself pulled into the surprisingly deep, wonderfully strange world of anime culture—complete with affectionate parody and plenty of school-life comedy along the way.
