Kohane Hatoya’s kindhearted urge to help others is both her charm and her weakness, often sending her rushing in headfirst. That same enthusiasm sparks into a new goal after she catches her first glimpse of cheerleading in middle school. Now in high school, Kohane sets her sights on forming a cheerleading club of her own, with her best friend Uki Sawatari close by to cheer her on—and to pull her out of the trouble her overzealousness can cause.

The catch is that Kohane has no cheerleading experience whatsoever, from routines and uniforms to the basics of performance. Worse still, she’s been afraid of heights since childhood, and cheerleading is packed with stunts that take performers off the ground. Her plans collide with Hizume Arima, a former cheerleader who wants to put that part of her life behind her—until Kohane recognizes her and stubbornly insists on having Hizume lead the new squad, even if it means confronting her own fears.
