Tsukasa, a young wavemaster, comes to in the MMORPG known as The World with only fragments of his memory intact—and no way to log out. With little idea of what led him there, he keeps to the shadows, drifting from area to area while trying to piece together the truth behind his situation.

His presence soon draws attention from the Crimson Knights, who suspect he may be a hacker after he’s spotted alongside an altered, cat-like character. As Tsukasa encounters a mysterious “guardian” item that offers him protection, Subaru and other players begin investigating the growing anomaly surrounding him, racing to understand what’s trapping him inside The World before it escalates further.
