Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki

Seventeen-year-old Tenchi Masaki has long heard a family legend: seven centuries ago, an ancestor used a sacred sword to imprison a demon within a nearby cave. When Tenchi’s curiosity leads him to investigate, he finds the very blade from the tale and pulls it free—only to unseal its captive. The “demon” is Ryouko Hakubi, a space pirate enraged by her long confinement, and Tenchi’s desperate defense awakens a hidden power within him. Intrigued by the boy who stood up to her, Ryouko decides to stay at his home.

Her arrival sets off a cascade of unlikely visitors from beyond Earth: Aeka Jurai Masaki, a strict princess from Jurai; her gentle younger sister Sasami; Mihoshi Kuramitsu, a scatterbrained Galactic Police officer; and Washuu Hakubi, a sharp-tongued scientific genius. As the household grows more chaotic, Tenchi is drawn deeper into the truth behind his lineage, the strength he’s begun to unlock, and dangers that reach far past the night sky.
