Metallic Rouge

After humanity defeats the alien Usurpers with the help of combat androids called Neans, Mars is colonized and a fragile peace settles in. With the war over, Neans are pushed into servitude as second-class citizens, kept dependent on humans for a daily dose of Nectar—the substance they need to survive.

Within this rigid order exist Proto-Neans: rare, self-directed models able to manifest metallic exoskeletons with extraordinary power. Rouge Redstar, a Proto-Nean, operates undercover for Aletheia, the agency tasked with Nean oversight, alongside her human partner Naomi Orthmann. Their assignment is to take down the Immortal Nine, a group of Proto-Neans deemed a threat to humanity for reasons that remain unclear—just as an investigator heads to Mars to pursue a string of murders in which Rouge is treated as the leading suspect. As Rouge and Naomi close in on their targets, the truth behind the Immortal Nine—and Aletheia itself—begins to surface.
