Lycoris Recoil

Terror incidents in Japan have plummeted, largely due to Direct Attack (DA), a covert organization that trains orphaned girls as assassins under the “Lycoris” program. Takina Inoue, a highly capable Lycoris known for her discipline and drive for perfection, is removed from DA after a hostage mission ends with an act of defiance. With the only world she’s known suddenly out of reach, she’s reassigned to an unexpected post: LycoReco, a café that doubles as a front for operations.

There, Takina is paired with Chisato Nishikigi, a renowned Lycoris whose relaxed attitude clashes with Takina’s strict professionalism. As Chisato pulls her into a string of unusual requests framed simply as helping people, Takina struggles to adapt—especially when she sees Chisato neutralize armed attackers without taking lives. Eager to return to DA, Takina finds herself challenged by Chisato’s insistence that there’s more to living than carrying out orders.
