Dororo

To secure his ambition of ruling Japan, the feared lord Daigo Kagemitsu strikes a bargain with 48 demons, offering his unborn child in exchange for power. The pact is fulfilled, and the baby is born missing much of his body, then discarded and set adrift down a river.

Fifteen years later, Dororo—a headstrong orphan scraping by amid famine and predatory samurai—crosses paths with a strange wandering swordsman. When trouble finds Dororo, a creature rises from the river, and the traveler reveals lethal blades hidden within his prosthetic arms to cut it down. Dororo follows him into the night, refusing to be left behind.

The man is Hyakkimaru, a survivor whose stolen body parts are tied to the demons that haunt him. With Dororo and a puppy named Nota at his side, he journeys across a ravaged land, confronting monsters born of myth and the cruelty of people alike.
