Five years after the events of *Dragon Ball*, Gokuu is now an adult martial artist living a quiet family life with Chi-Chi and their four-year-old son, Gohan. A friendly reunion on Turtle Island with Master Roshi, Krillin, Bulma, and the others is shattered when Raditz—a mysterious humanoid alien—arrives, exposes unsettling truths about Gokuu’s origins, and abducts Gohan.

Outmatched by Raditz’s overwhelming strength, Gokuu turns to an unlikely ally: his former enemy Piccolo. Their desperate rescue attempt also draws attention to the seven wish-granting Dragon Balls, and Raditz warns that more Saiyans are on the way—warriors who won’t hesitate to pursue that power for themselves. From there, *Dragon Ball Z Kai* follows Gokuu and his friends as they face escalating threats across the galaxy, balancing bursts of humor and warmth with intense, hard-fought battles that test their limits.
