Hakuoki ~Demon of the Fleeting Blossom~

Set in Kyoto in 1864, *Hakuoki ~Demon of the Fleeting Blossom~* follows Chizuru Yukimura as she searches for her missing father, Koudou, a doctor whose work frequently keeps him away. With months passing without word, she disguises herself as a man and travels to the capital—only to be targeted by ronin and stumble upon a grisly scene as they’re slaughtered by crazed, white-haired men.

The Shinsengumi arrive in time to eliminate the threat, but Chizuru is taken back to their headquarters, bound and treated as a dangerous loose end. When she reveals her father’s name, the Shinsengumi choose to protect her, admitting they’ve been looking for him as well—drawing Chizuru into their hidden ties to Koudou, escalating clashes with their enemies, and the growing political unrest gripping Kyoto.
