Sergeant Sousuke Sagara transfers back to Jindai High School with a single objective: protect Kaname Chidori, a valuable military asset, from any potential threat. His combat-hardened instincts and lack of everyday social sense quickly turn routine school life into a string of risky misunderstandings, much to the frustration of Kaname, who just wants a peaceful campus experience. While she juggles her responsibilities as student council vice president, she’s also stuck reining in Sousuke’s habit of treating every problem—real or imagined—as a mission that calls for heavy weaponry.

When discretion is required, Sousuke occasionally operates in the suit of Bonta-kun, a popular amusement-park mascot. True to form, he modifies the cheerful costume into a high-performance exoskeleton, complete with one memorable flaw: its voice translator can only output the sound “mofu.”
