Rinne Rokudou has more on his plate than ordinary school life: he spends his days guiding lingering spirits on to the next world. The work leaves him perpetually broke, scraping together enough for basics like meals, clothes, and the tools he needs for exorcisms.

Sakura Mamiya has seen ghosts since childhood and, despite hoping it would fade with age, that ability follows her into high school. When her chronically absent classmate Rinne finally appears, Sakura is the only one who can see him at first—leading her to assume he’s a spirit herself. Yet Rinne turns up the next day as if nothing happened, pulling Sakura into the truth about who he is and the supernatural realm that exists just out of sight.
