Restaurant worker Minare Koda is still reeling from a painful breakup when a night of drinking leads her to pour out her frustrations to a stranger. That stranger turns out to be Kanetsugu Matou, a radio station director in Sapporo, Hokkaido—and he doesn’t just listen.

The next day, Minare hears her drunken tirade broadcast over the airwaves and storms into the station to put a stop to it. Cornered into addressing what went out live, she launches into an impromptu on-air explanation with a surprising ease and momentum that catches Matou’s attention.

Before long, Minare is pulled into the world of late-night radio under Matou’s guidance, spinning lively stories rooted in Sapporo while juggling her job at the restaurant and the everyday pressures of making a living.
