Usagi Tsukino and her friends return to a quiet everyday life—until they’re once again needed as the Sailor Guardians, defenders of peace across the galaxy. When a threat arrives from beyond the stars, Sailor Moon leads the team against An and Ail, the last survivors of an alien race. To sustain the Makai Tree, the source of their life force, the pair secretly drains energy from unsuspecting humans, putting Earth in immediate danger.

No sooner is that crisis confronted than a new mystery appears: a young girl from the future searching for the power of Sailor Moon to save her family. Her arrival draws the attention of the Black Moon Clan as well, who seek the same power for their own ends—forcing the Sailor Guardians into another battle to protect their world and the future tied to it.
