Shadow Star Narutaru

Spending summer vacation at her grandparents’ home, Tamai Shiina—a bright, upbeat schoolgirl—encounters an odd-looking creature and forms an immediate bond with it. She names her new companion Hoshimaru, “The Round Star,” and carries the memory of that meeting back with her when school resumes.

Once home, Shiina begins to notice other children who, like her, have also partnered with mysterious creatures. As these encounters multiply, it becomes clear that not every creature—or the child connected to it—shares Hoshimaru’s gentle nature, and the situation around them grows steadily more unsettling.
