Duel Monsters enters a new era with Link Vrains, a vast network where duelists log into virtual reality, craft custom avatars, and compete using the newly introduced Link Summoning. The thrill of climbing the ranks in cyberspace comes with its own dangers, as the digital world proves just as turbulent and uncertain as the real one.

Years earlier, the hacker group known as the Knights of Hanoi—commanded by the enigmatic Revolver—launched an assault on Link Vrains with the goal of eradicating an artificial intelligence called the Cyberse. Although the operation didn’t go as planned, one intended target, Ignis, escaped and concealed the Cyberse somewhere within the network. Five years later, high schooler Yuusaku Fujiki crosses paths with a mysterious AI while dueling in Link Vrains. Operating as his avatar Playmaker and aided by Shouichi Kusanagi, Yuusaku teams up with the strange entity as he searches for answers tied to a past incident—taking on the Knights of Hanoi and SOL Technologies in a high-stakes struggle that could reshape the world.
