In the Duel Monsters universe, a fresh class of competitors rises with one goal in mind: claiming the coveted title of King of Games. Juudai Yuuki, an upbeat and easygoing aspiring duelist, enrolls at the prestigious Duel Academy—an institution dedicated to training the next wave of challengers.

Juudai’s relaxed attitude immediately gets him into trouble when he shows up late for his entrance exam, but the day takes a strange turn after an unexpected encounter leaves him with the card “Winged Kuriboh,” a companion that quickly becomes central to his dueling life. As Juudai settles into Academy life alongside new friends, ordinary school days give way to unusual trials, and ominous forces begin to blur the line between destiny and darkness.
