Blade of the Immortal

In feudal Japan, the feared swordsman Manji is branded the “Hundred Man Killer” for the deaths of one hundred innocent people. Yet his notoriety pales beside a darker truth: he cannot die. An eight-hundred-year-old nun, Yaobikuni, has embedded bloodworms within him—creatures that mend nearly any wound and bind him to an unwanted immortality.

Seeking atonement, Manji vows to cut down one thousand wicked men, and Yaobikuni promises to lift his curse if he succeeds. His path soon intersects with Rin Asano, a 16-year-old girl determined to avenge her parents’ murder. Though he initially turns her away, Manji ultimately agrees to guard Rin for four years, and the pair set out on a brutal road marked by vengeance, relentless combat, and the possibility of redemption.
