And Yet the Town Moves

Seaside Café is an unlikely entrant in the maid-café boom: a quick rebrand leaves it with little in the way of proper service, no tea to speak of, and a customer base that’s mostly limited to the neighborhood shopping district. Even so, it’s where high schooler Hotori Arashiyama decides to take a part-time job—kept quietly under wraps after class.

Juggling school, work, home life, and budding romantic feelings doesn’t come naturally to Hotori, who fumbles through her days with more enthusiasm than finesse. With friends and family nearby, she tries to find her footing in an adolescence where “normal” rarely seems to apply.
