Cardfight!! Vanguard

Cardfight!! Vanguard is set in a world where the trading card game Cardfight Vanguard has become a daily pastime, with dedicated “cardfighters” gathering in card shops to test their skills. Quiet, timid Aichi Sendou is often picked on at school, but he finds comfort in Blaster Blade—a legendary rare card he received as a child—that helps him push forward when things get tough.

That small anchor is threatened when bully Katsumi Morikawa steals the card, and circumstances soon place it in the possession of Toshiki Kai, a newcomer who has already earned a reputation as the town’s strongest fighter. Kai won’t give it back unless Aichi can beat him in a cardfight, forcing Aichi to step up and face the game head-on. As he gathers his courage for the match, Aichi’s first steps into the competitive world of Vanguard begin.
